Tiffany’s story is one of heartache and pain. The father of her two children is a drug user. She was once a user also. Now that she is the mother of a two year old and a one year she quit using. She took an even bigger step. She moved to another state to start anew.
I met Tiffany while eating out with three pastor friends. It was obvious she was having a difficult night. Something was amiss.
As pastors do, we inquired.
During the conversation we asked her the three Gospel questions I have tried to teach you:
1. “Who was Jesus?” I asked. She nailed her answer, “He is our Savior.”
2. Next I inquired, “What did He do?” She hit this one on the head as well, “He died for our sins.”
3. Then I asked, “Why does that matter?” The look in her eyes said spoke volumes. She hesitated and then commented, “I don’t know.”
The door to her heart was wide open. From there we learned more. Tiffany cried. Again, we tried to comfort.
We asked if she owned a Bible. She did not. We assured her we would return with a Bible of her own.
The next evening I returned to the restaurant just as we promised. She was surprised to see me. She said, “I didn’t think you would come back.” Now I was surprised.
“Are you kidding?” I questioned. “I promised to give you a Bible, and I am here to keep my promise.”
I read the inscription we wrote in the front of the Bible. We implored her to read the Gospel of John. Then we concluded, “While reading the Gospel of John, look for what Jesus says you must do to be born again.”
I have contacted a local church to follow up with Tiffany. They assured me they will make contact.
Pray for Tiffany. Pray her to read her new Bible. For it is the Gospel call of Jesus Christ that will save Tiffany. Pray she will be born again, soon.
