Sunday was a crazy, yet exhilarating day for CrossPoint. Here it is Monday morning, and I am still trying to recuperate from the events of the day. Although the day was extremely busy, I was enormously blessed by day.
Sunday began with me rising early to meet with God in a time of sweet communion. I enjoy my Sunday mornings of prayer, Bible study and reflection. After that I met with my prayer intercessor, Bart Harrison.
God gave birth to this prayer ministry last January when Dr. R. Kent Hughes was our guest. Since then, individual men have volunteered to pray with me and for me during all three worship celebrations. The power of that quiet ministry is awe-inspiring. Perhaps I can write about this intercessory ministry sometime in the future.
During the 9:30 worship I slipped into the World’s Great Sunday School Class to tell my part of the CrossPoint’s birth. Time was limited, so I only had time to share four or five key points. Yes, it was an emotional time. And Hugh Patrick’s class was very gracious and receptive. Thank you, WGSS and kudos also to Russ Feild for loaning me your clean handkerchief. I used it several more times in the day.
What about worship? I thought Sunday’s music matched the message perfectly. It always does. Yet this day was different.
Several of you commented on the message, and how it helped you understand more about God’s grace. The more conscious we are of our depraved state, the more love we have for our Savior and His grace. For that biblical insight, I am thankful.
The day continued with the Discovery 101 Membership Class. Although it was the smallest number of people we have ever had to participate, their response was most positive. Each new member has already connected to a Bible study group. Each one gave their testimony during the class. They responded positively to the stewardship challenge I gave them. And they all seemed genuinely excited about being connected to CrossPoint. We will present these new members on Sunday, May 16.
I had a 30 minute break between D101 and Deacons meeting. Our deacons met Sunday afternoon to welcome 13 new men into CrossPoint’s deacon ministry. Five of the men being added to the ministry were previously ordained men. These men include Bart Smith, Larry Posey, John Clendenin, Walt Gunter, and Scott Wilbanks. The eight men we are ordaining Wednesday night include Randy Beasley, David Tully, Rick Gallant, Bob Branham, Gerald Liner, Don Daniels, Woodie Eubanks, and Charlie Wiles.
You will have the privilege to hear these men give their testimonies Wednesday night during our first Worship on Wednesday celebration for the summer. Their testimonies were different and unique. However, there was a common thread in each man’s story. They all admitted their unworthiness in serving as a CrossPoint deacon, yet they were thankful for the opportunity. I look forward to ordaining them Wednesday night.
My day ended with me treating my clan to supper yesterday evening. After that, I went home and crashed in bed. Do you now see what Sunday was such a crazy yet exhilarating day?

Your energy level and endurance amaze me!
I will continue to pray for you!
Soli Deo Gloria!
Brad, my energy level is waning as each year passes. I was out of gas all day Monday. It is in times like these I need more wisdom than I do energy.
