It is good to be back from vacation. I want to thank you for praying for me while I took a much needed break from the demands of work.
I want to also thank Rick Lance, Denny Burk, Dave Snyder and Timothy George for blogging in my absence. They did an incredible job. All four men are gifted and exceptional writers. Moreover, all four are deeply devoted men of God. Thank you, friends for writing in my absence.
My vacation was everything I expected it to be and more. The Lord afforded me every opportunity to read, to rest and to refresh. Additionally, I was able to visit with several of my family members I do not get to see that often. I was also able to take in some beautiful parts of God’s creation. Many of the places where we rested remain etched in my mind’s eye for future reference.
As we begin this week I want to encourage you with a Scripture passage. I encourage you to memorize it and then meditate on it the remainder of the week:
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.They collapse and fall,but we rise and stand upright.
Psalm 20:7-8
