Alabama experienced a tremendous loss of life and property on April 27, 2011 due to the storms that ravaged our state. CrossPoint has a three-fold response to this tragedy. We are asking each CrossPointer to:
Pray for the families who have lost loved ones
Pray for those who are injured
Pray for those whose homes have been damaged or destroyed
Pray for the first responders: fire and rescue, police, and National Guard
Pray for Governor Bentley and those organizing the disaster relief
Pray for the mayors and city council members of those impacted by the storm
Pray for the Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief
Pray for the St Clair Baptist Disaster Relief
Pray for the doctors, nurses and other medical professionals caring for the injured
Pray for the churches, and for brothers and sisters in churches impacted by this disaster
Pray for the Lord to use this disaster for His good and His glory
You may make a contribution to the Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief. Please make checks payable to CrossPoint. Include on the memo line “Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief”. Or, you may give online here. Be sure to click the “disaster relief fund” button.
We are working closely with several churches in the devastated areas, as well as with the St. Clair Baptist Disaster Relief and the Alabama Disaster Relief. We are asking you to bring the following items by Wednesday, May 4.
Diapers (all sizes)
Baby food in jars
Juice (individually packaged)
Band-Aids & First Aid items
* No furniture or clothing can be handled at this time.
As you learn of specific needs, please volunteer your time and effort. In the weeks and months to come we will have opportunity to serve the affected areas. We will keep you posted of the ways in which we will serve as a church.
FEMA Free Assistance Line
