I will admit each year I am excited about leading CrossPoint to read the Bible. Yet this year I am doubly excited. I am all the more excited because this year’s plan is like no other plan we have ever attempted. The Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan is a great plan because it gives us so much variety each day. We read from two books in the Old Testament and then from two books in the New Testament. It is also stimulating because it has grace days built into each month. In just a few more days we have a five day stretch to study, to catch up or even to get ahead. I think I am also enthusiastic because so many more people are attempting to read God’s Word this year. I like it when I hear of you reading God’s Word.
Here are two more reasons to read God’s Word. I received this emails during the first week of reading.

As you know at the ending of one year and the star of the new year we all make those crazy and wild resolutions. Well after hearing the service on Sunday, I started thinking about what my resolutions were going to be for the new year. The very first thing that came to my mind was I wanted to know Our Lord and Savior more. I listen every Sunday during Sunday school and worship and also on every Wednesday that we attend, but after that it seemed to me that there was no real good time to read my Bible in my busy life on all the other days. Being a new follower of Christ I have come to the conclusion that that is just an excuse and I have to make time. Well I know this is only the 4th day into our new year, but I have to tell you I am just about through reading the first months plan. I have always enjoyed reading a good book, but this is absolutely one AWESOME book. I just can’t get enough and I don’t want to put it down. It is our Lord working in me, I know this! It is for Him that I have found a friend at work that is also reading our bible plan with me and we are discussing it. I just had to share this with you and let you know that it has brought absolute joy to my heart being a part of such a wonderful church and having a wonderful Pastor.

Just wanted you to know I have started my bible reading plan for 2013 and the Lord has already revealed something to me for me to think about, I look forward to seeing what He will show me next.
Please pray for me that I will continue my reading as most times I stray away and never get back. I want this year to be different. I want t draw closer to the Lord and feel Him with me all the time. At the end of this year I want to be able to say that my relationship with the Lord has changed in a powerful way. I thank the Lord everyday that you are my pastor and that I am in the best church ever and that we as a church seek the Lord and His will like we do.

hey Pastor Ryan, i also am reading my bible plan everyday and find my self praying for understanding on things i am not sure about, it works because i am always lead to a website or person that can help. I am also very proud of my wonderfull wife Pam who is also studying more and find our talks on the Bible bringing us both closer to our savior. Thanks for all you do for us pastor and God bless you.
