Vonda and I splurged a bit last weekend for our 27th wedding anniversary. The indulgence included staying at the JW Marriott in Atlanta Buckhead, Georgia. Our room was a luxury suite and it was awesome. Sure it was way out of our budget, but we had saved a few bucks here and there to take the plunge. And we had a ball.
Atlanta Buckhead is one of our favorite places. In the area are some of our much loved restaurants. We also like the ritzy places to shop, or should I say to look. While staying at the Marriott, we were most impressed with the hotel staff.
Every employee was extremely friendly. Each member of the staff greeted us with a smile. From the hotel manager to the concierge to the maids – you name it – all of them greeted us warmly. And they all responded with the same words whenever we asked for something. They would say, “With pleasure” and somehow it sounded as if they meant it.
CrossPoint could learn something from JW Marriott. We could learn more about welcoming others. We could learn additionally how important it is to share a smile. We could also learn how to assist people. And, we could learn how to create a desire for people to come back for more. I know we will return to the JW Marriott the next time we have a few dollars saved. I wonder how many people desire to come back to CrossPoint by the way we welcome them.

CrossPoint already does an excellent job at this..we are proof! We visited so many churches last year in our search for a place to settle in and become family. I can tell you unequivocally that CrossPoint was the most friendly and welcoming of all the churches we visited. While there is always room for all of us to improve, I know the kind of warm reception we received here is already a pleasing aroma to our Lord!
Ann, I am so glad to read your response. I agree, CrossPoint is a welcoming bunch of people. Yet we always have room for improvement. Thank you for your kind remarks. Remember, we now need you and your husband and daughter to help us express grace to our guests.
Doing our best to welcome “just one more” as the opportunity presents!
You are exactly right, Ann.
