What a good reminder of how we need to quit focusing on ourselves and redirect our focus on Jesus Christ. Especially with the recent events, I've heard more and more people using the phrases, "Everyone deserves to be happy" and "You deserve to be happy." I became convicted about using that word sometime last fall, when I recommitted my life to Jesus Christ. So what do we really deserve? Certainly not happiness. We deserve God's wrath. We deserve to be eternally separated from him because we fail miserably at keeping his commandments. It is only by his great grace that I am forgiven of my sins. I didn't do anything to deserve it. It was completely unmerited. I think if we change our hearts from an attitude of "I deserve (fill in the blank)" to one of greater humbleness, we will become more thankful for the blessings he has poured out over our lives. I am still guilty of using this phrase from time to time, but I've tried to be more cautious, because I'm reminded that it has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with him. Just my two cents this morning. I pray that Crosspoint always exists as a church who preaches Christ Crucified!

I heard someone say once, "what a man can be talked into he can be talked out of." Because salvation is of the Lord and not of man, it results in great assurance for the Christian. We can do nothing to lose our salvation, because we did nothing to be saved. For by grace (not of works) we are saved through faith so no one can boast, we confess with our mouth the finished work of Jesus and believe it is enough because Jesus said it was and the Prophets said it would be enough 400 years before His birth, and God said He would be satisfied. And now we serve out of gratitude, because God accepted His Son's imputed righteousness as our own, He is our King and Lord. Hallelujah!

Mary, we are praying for you and others in China. That you may receive the gift of grace, salvation through faith in the work done by our Lord Jesus on our behalf to bring us back into fellowship with the Heavenly Father. May we be united soon as brothers and sisters in Him who satisfied the wrath of God, Jesus. Amen

As I heard you say one time... "God doesn't use anyone He doesn't first break." Now I guess I'd tweak that to, "God continues to break and rebuild those He uses."

God looks at us individually, and that is the way we will be judged. Each of us has to decide to receive the grace God extends, and ask him into our heart. We are not a collective being that if one accepts we all are accepted into His kingdom. It is an individual decision.

office Mac, there are many who think they are saved because their parents or grandparents were saved. I am glad to know you are not one of those people. You bless me.
